Look at the worms - Seda, October 2024

The worm spins its cocoon in a delicate, miraculous process, destined for a complete transformation. To die in order to fly.

Humans interrupt this cycle by boiling the cocoon with the worm inside, aiming to preserve the filament that will become a valuable fabric. This ancient, painful ritual hides a story of sacrifice behind the shine and luxury.

Similarly, jewelry, often presented as elegant and perfect, conceals its own noisy, demanding, and risky process. Our hands, involved in every step—hammering, sanding, polishing, and soldering—are the ones that end up wearing the finished pieces.

There’s no gap between the process and the final product, just as there shouldn’t be between the start and end of the worm’s journey that will never lead to becoming a butterfly.
